Training is Essential to Having a Confident & Well Mannered Dog

Obedience training focuses on teaching a dog to respond reliably to whatever command its handler gives. We offer three levels of obedience instruction: beginning, intermediate and advanced. Dogs of any age, size and breed can benefit from our obedience training programs.

The following is a list of dog obedience training classes and related services we provide at The Fine Canine. Please contact us with any questions you may have or to enroll in any of our obedience training programs.

Beginning Obedience

Everyone should be able to experience a dog that exhibits good manners, walks nicely on a leash and comes when called. Obedience training can mold your dog into a reliable, faithful companion. The traditional obedience commands as well as good manners, leadership and social skills are emphasized in the Family Dog beginning level. We address common behavior problems like jumping, nipping, digging, barking and pulling on the lead. Your dog will learn all of the basic obedience exercises such as heeling on walks, stays, down, sit, wait, and coming when called.

Stays, Recalls, Distractions

This intermediate level obedience class is for dogs of any age. This is a class for the dog who knows the basics but who has difficulty responding to commands when there are other animals, other people or any other distractions present. In this class we work on leash walking with distractions, recalls with more distractions and distance, and stays with more duration and increased distractions. The goal of this class is to teach you how to gain focus and attention from your pet so you can rely on them in and out of the house!
